Biography

He is a Non-equity Partner at CN&R since 2015, bringing to the firm more than 12 years of litigation experience as a trial attorney in both state and federal courts. Mr. Vargas provides counseling and defense work representing med-sized and multinational companies against all kinds of labor and employment law claims, including unjust discharge, discrimination, wages and hours, sexual harassment, workers’ compensation and medical leaves, among others. He also has extensive experience handling labor arbitration matters, unfair labor practice charges, and representing employers in multiple administrative forums (eg. NLRB, EEOC, DOL, Anti-Discrimination Unit and OMA). Mr. Vargas constantly serves as speaker in seminars to clients regarding recent legal developments and best workplace practices. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, the Federal Bar Association Puerto Rico Chapter and the Labor Relations Professionals Association. Before joining CN&R in October 2015, Mr. Vargas worked as an Associate and later as Income Member at the employment and labor law departments of two major law firms in Puerto Rico. He holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law (2001), and a Master of Law degree (LL.M.) with a concentration in Labor and Employment Law from Georgetown University Law Center (2002).
